Xiotech® Corporation today announced a growing number of national companies and government entities that selected Xiotech's Magnitude 3D® 3000 storage area network (SAN) solutions in 2006. Customers including Larson, Allen, Weishair & Co. LLP (LarsonAllen); Banta Direct Marketing Group; the City of Albert Lea; the City of St. Cloud; Masco Corporation; Ventura County Office of Education; Continuum Health Partners, Inc.; and the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy chose the Magnitude 3D 3000 system in order to better manage their data storage.

As a growing provider to school districts in Calif., the Ventura County Office of Education departed from its direct-attached storage and upgraded to Xiotech's Magnitude 3D SAN for greater scalability, flexibility and resilience.

"Xiotech's value lies not only on its very competitive pricing, but more importantly, the company as a whole, from the top management to services technicians, understands the needs of its customers," said Mitch Hsu, systems manager, technology services, Ventura County Office of Education. "We did not see this from the other vendors we evaluated. We were looking for partnerships to improve our business processes and capability, and we found that with Xiotech."

The Magnitude 3D 3000 data storage system was designed to meet the needs of midsized organizations. The system delivers the high performance midsized organizations typically require, easily scaling without sacrificing throughput if storage needs increase. Additionally, storage reconfigurations can be made on-the-fly during business hours without specialized vendor expertise.

The Magnitude 3D 3000 system also enables the simultaneous deployment and use of iSCSI and Fibre Channel, so organizations can select the data transmission architecture that best meets their needs. The iSCSI capability combined with Fibre Channel adds to the already significant return on investment (ROI) of the Magnitude 3D 3000 system by enabling these organizations to connect dispersed servers into the SAN, eliminating the cost of individual server disk administration, patching and maintenance.

"As their business needs change, midsized companies across the nation are recognizing that Xiotech can help them meet their changing storage needs," said Mike Stolz, vice president of marketing, Xiotech. "Xiotech aims to meet the business challenges of our customers with advanced storage solutions that are easy to use and scale."
