WhipTail Technologies Goes Global With Opening Of U.K. Office

Recently, at SNW Fall 2009, WhipTail Technologies Inc., a provider of solid-state drive (SSD) Tier 0 storage appliances, announced that the company has opened a U.K. office in Surrey. The new office will allow WhipTail Technologies to more immediately address the area's increasing demand for cost-effective enterprise storage solutions that provide quality performance with low power consumption.

"In the midst of the current recession, the U.K. government has been cracking down on companies to use products that require less power. The challenge is finding solutions that not only cut down on power consumption, but do so at a reasonable cost and without sacrificing performance," said Ed Rebholz, CEO of WhipTail. "WhipTail's Racerunner enterprise SSD appliance provides companies with a solution that meets all of those criteria - providing up to a 90 percent energy savings with performance superior to that of traditional storage, and at a starting price point of $49,500 for a 1.5 TB system."

WhipTail has hired Douglas Williams, based in Surrey, to manage the new office. Williams is a dedicated international sales and technical manager with more than 26 years' experience in promoting and developing IT storage solutions and consultancy for start-up, private, public and vendor sector organizations. He has received the highest levels of training on all major NAS, SAN and storage applications. Williams' achievements include being the first to sell SaaS contracts in Europe for Evault / i365 and the first to bring multi-media storage libraries to the broadcast and media market.

"WhipTail is increasing its presence in the U.K. at a time when the window of opportunity is wide open," said Douglas Williams, director of business development / EMEA for WhipTail. "Racerunner is unlike any other enterprise storage option currently on the market. With the appliance providing enterprises with Tier 0 storage performance at the cost of Tier 1 and offering lower power consumption levels than existing alternatives, I anticipate Racerunner to be very well received."

WhipTail's Racerunner appliances are being showcased during SNW Fall this week in the WhipTail booth (#1705).
