Teleste Introduces A New Video Recording Platform To Meet The Exploding Need For More Data Storage Capacity Within Video Security Systems

Turku, Finland /PRNewswire/ - Teleste's new platform multiplies the capacity for storing video recordings in the company's S-VMX video management system

Teleste, an international technology group specialised in broadband video and data communication systems and services, introduces a new video recording platform to the company's S-VMX video management system. The platform enables a significant increase in data storage capacity within the video management system, and further strengthens its capabilities to ensure safety and security in today's urban environments.

"Today, the growing reliance on video security is significantly driving the volume of video recordings. As the volume of recorded streams grows, so does the use of HD and ultra HD video formats as the default camera resolution and for intelligent video applications, such as facial recognition. The development addresses the importance of sufficient video storage capacity, especially for large city-wide security projects with thousands of video cameras", says Johan Slotte, Deputy CEO and Head of Video Security and Information at Teleste."Teleste aims at providing our customers with tools for developing future-proof security systems and enhancing the safety and security of citizens. We are proud to introduce the new video recording platform as our latest achievement in solving our customers' real-life challenges."

Flexible, high-capacity and high-density solution for the needs of intelligent security applications
As part of the S-VMX video management system, the new high density network-based video recording platform extends data storage capacity in a cost-efficient and flexible manner. There is virtually no limit to its recording capacity and the number of streams that can be processed.

Capable of multi-petabyte recording, but also processing several thousands of cameras, the platform is fully secured and backed up. Doubling the storage capacity of each disk, the new platform supports 8 terabyte hard disks, and its high definition design allows for installation of more hard disks to each rack unit than previously. The Teleste platform offers 5 times better density than standard models. As an example, a 3U chassis can process and record 800 Full HD video streams!

Fully scalable, the new platform also increases flexibility by its network type of architecture which interconnects and presents a shared pool of storage devices that are accessible to multiple video cameras. This enables efficient use of free storage space, and allows storing the recordings independent of camera locations.

Teleste will demonstrate the S-VMX at Intersec 2016, 17-19 January in Dubai. You are welcome to learn more and visit our stand S1-E42! Visit here for more information about our event offering.
