Tape And Disk Backup: Overland Storage Chooses Xyratex 4Gb F5402E FC-SAS/SATA RAID
Xyratex Ltd., one of the leading provider of enterprise class data storage subsystems and storage process technology, recently announced that it has signed an OEM integration agreement with Overland Storage, a leading provider of tape and disk backup and recovery solutions.
Under this agreement, Overland Storage will integrate Xyratex's F5402E 4Gb FC-SAS/SATA RAID system into its ULTAMUS RAID 1200 product, a highly scalable and affordable storage solution for small and medium-sized enterprises. The ULTAMUS RAID 1200 leverages the Xyratex F5402E to house a combination of 12 SATA II or SAS drives and up to 9 TB of storage capacity in each compact 2U rack-mountable enclosure. The extensible system can scale up to 60 drives and accommodates between 1.75 TB and 45 TB of data. The system can also be deployed as a standalone solution or in conjunction with Overland's REO SERIES® disk backup, recovery and VTL appliance and NEO SERIES® and ARCvault™ tape libraries.
