Spectra Logic Offers Backup, Encryption, Compression, And Advanced Key Management

Already a long-term customer of Spectra Logic, R.C. Willey had an excellent track record with both Spectra Logic products and support staff. They partitioned Spectra libraries into a number of virtual libraries with mixed media, and now had integrated AES-256 bit encryption available. Spectra BlueScale Encryption lets users encrypt and backup data using only the library—no additional appliance required. Jones and Sheridan decided to add BlueScale Encryption.

"Spectra Logic was the only vendor to offer backup, encryption, compression, and advanced key management in a single unit, plus SAIT integration to store large fi les," said Richard Sheridan, I.T. Today, R. C. Willey Home Furnishings manages a Spectra T950 and two Spectra T120s, all with BlueScale Encryption, plus EMC Symmetrix and Cisco switches. The company and Sheridan are confident they've safeguarded corporate data and comply with state and national laws.
