Sony's new DDS-4 autoloader utilizes an 8-cartridge magazine with a unique push mechanism tape transport. The magazine design delivers reliable automated tape handling while reducing the typical mis-grip issues associated with other tape transport technologies. And with a capacity of 40 GB (with 2:1 compression) per catridge, the TSL-S11000/TB delivers up to 320 GB of storage in a compact form factor.

The TSL-S11000/TB autoloader is built around Sony's latest DDS-4 tape technology, the SDT-11000 tape drive. The first DDS-4 tape mechanism introduced to the market, the SDT-11000 delivers data at sustained transfer rates up to 4.8 MB/s (with 2:1 compression) while providing reliable recording with Sony's patented Super Head CleanerT mechanism.
Full backward compatibility protects your existing data archives
To secure your investment in data stored on earlier generations of DDS media, Sony DDS-3 tape autoloaders are fully read and write compatible with DDS-3, DDS-2, and DDS-1 tape formats.
