SNW Names Winckworth Sherwood As A Finalist In Its Fall 2010 "Best Practices" Awards Program

Winckworth Recognized by SNW for Best Practices in Storage Resiliency, Data Protection and Recovery with InMage Systems Implementation

InMage (www.inmage.com), the leading independent software vendor of disk-based, business application recovery solutions recently announced that key UK based customer Winckworth Sherwood has been selected by SNW as a finalist for its Fall 2010 "Best Practices" Awards Program.

SNW's "Best Practices" Awards Program identifies and acknowledges excellence among users of IT management solutions and approaches. Five finalists and one winner in each category will be recognized during an Awards Ceremony taking place at SNW, October 11-14, 2010, at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas, Texas.

Winckworth Sherwood was nominated for Best Practices in Storage Resiliency, Data Protection and Recovery using the InMage solution.

InMage was deployed to meet disaster recovery requirements and to solve problems with local backup for Winckworth Sherwood's production environment. The key differentiator using InMage is that it enables recoveries from local and remote sites simultaneously, literally within minutes, maximizing efficient use of WAN bandwidth between their locations and delivering lowest possible RTO's and RPO's.

"We spent a long time searching for the appropriate solution to enable us to replicate data with varying recovery point options to compliment our tape based infrastructure, and eventually replace our existing SAN to SAN replication solution. Inmage was that solution. It's flexibility in supporting different servers – physical or virtual, also makes it cost efficient and preserves huge investments we have already made on storage. As a law firm, the speed with which data growth increases due to emails and documents means our nightly backups were running through the night until the morning impacting on other critical applications running during the day. We are now able to extend back-up and recovery jobs along with lesser administration tasks; and are confident that the solution works." said Christel Aguila, Head of IT, Winckworth Sherwood.

InMage's integrated recovery software supports both local and remote backup and disaster recovery, performing exceptionally well in heterogeneous IT infrastructures with mixed physical and virtual server environments; supports SAN, DAS, and NAS storage; and Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems. Customers can address stringent disaster recovery requirements, backup problems and application availability with a single solution, where in the past multiple products were once required.
