Overview
The SANnet® II SATA is an affordable, compact, and expandable array designed to meet the needs of near-line storage, data reference, and data archival applications.
Compact and Rack-optimized
The SANnet II SATA storage systems use high-speed interfaces based on serial signaling technology - Fibre Channel for servers and Serial ATA for drives. Base and expansion systems occupy 2U of rack space and include 12 drive bays to provide up to 3TB of capacity each.
Flexible and Scalable
SANnet II SATA scales to 16TB of usable RAID 5 storage capacity by adding drives and expansion systems. Multiple FC host ports enable the direct connection of up to 12 servers without switches. In configurations using switches, SANnet II SATA can provide storage for 64 or more servers. Designed using modular, open systems architecture, SANnet II SATA storage systems are interoperable with major servers and operating systems.
Reliable and Serviceable
All components are redundant, hot-swap removable and field-serviceable for dependability, including drives, RAID controllers, IO modules, power supplies, cooling fans, and battery-backups for cache memory. SANnet II SATA is certified to meet NEBS Level 3 and ETSI telecommunications standards, plus U.S. Department of Defense MIL-STD-810F standards.
