RIM Risk Management Reaches New Heights

Work is now underway in several arenas to develop financially-based RIM risk assessment tools; however, until those tools are available, this White Paper has been developed to help those who are concerned with RIM risk management, to understand what these tools will reveal and how they can effectively be used in real-world market situations.

RIM Risk Assessment is a problem across the records management industry, including software developers, IT professionals at Enterprise-level corporations, as well as those executive decision-makers who oversee – but do not actively manage – records at major corporations.

As technology has evolved beyond paper records to include electronic documents – as well as email, text and voice mail messages – the scope and nature of records management (and the risk associated with records management) has expanded and grown. However, the technology that allows corporations to effectively manage these new kinds of documents and records has not kept apace.
