Remote Office Backup: Preparing For The Unavoidable

Data protection for remote office data is a frequently overlooked component of an overall data protection strategy. Remote offices do not have the same level of IT expertise as the primary data centers. Furthermore, companies underestimate the value of the remote office data to the continued operation of the business, whether the risk is from a natural disaster or a lawsuit. This report, which is based on a survey of 211 respondents conducted in August and September 2007, examines the range of current remote office backup and data recovery practices and provides insights into the practices adopted by Best-in-Class (BIC) companies that have achieved reliable remote office data recovery.
