Quadric Software Set To Launch Virtual Backup Appliance In A Strategic Move To Offer Next-Gen Data Protection As Companies Look For More Defenses Against Cyberattacks

Quadric Software’s new virtual Alike appliance (A2) leverages local and cloud storage, secure data protection software, and business continuity offerings in a single, easy-to-deploy solution for comprehensive data protection.

Burlington, VT (PRWEB) - Quadric Software announces that their virtual Alike Appliance (A2) is in the final stages of beta and will be launching within the coming months. Given the recent maelstrom of cyberattacks, more and more companies are looking for backup and recovery solutions to ensure their data is secure and recoverable in the event of a natural disaster or ransomware attack.

Quadric Software’s CEO, Phil Baskette says that while the new appliance has been in beta for months now, the upcoming launch could not have arrived at a better time. “The new Alike Appliance is designed to provide highly integrated data protection to ensure that customers have secure and recoverable backups, while simplifying deployment and lowering overall cost,” explains Baskette, “And thanks to the very small surface area of the appliance, the A2 will further reduce the risk of cyber attacks on the backup platform itself.”

For many small businesses, finding cost-effective data protection can be difficult given the complexity of many backup and recovery solutions on the market. Aside from time-consuming setups and overly complex UI’s, and added features most IT environments don’t support or need, there aren’t a lot of affordable turnkey solutions.

SysAdmins end up spending a lot of valuable time managing multiple applications and platforms. Add that to the money spent on the backup software, servers, storage repositories, and multiple vendor licenses, and you have a solution that quickly becomes too expensive to manage for most IT departments.

The A2 is designed to offer an affordable, all-in-one backup solution that is much easier to deploy and manage than traditional solutions, while providing flexible installation options. “We like to think of the new A2 as a liquid asset for IT environments. In other words, users don't need to provision a specialized infrastructure for the appliance; they simply install a single, pre-configured appliance in their virtual environment,” explains Baskette.

Because the A2 runs on a customized/hardened Linux based platform, it eliminates the cost and complexity of Windows licensing. Combined with Alike’s economical offsite storage, and highly competitive compression ratios, the new appliance will save users a lot of money and stress.

The A2 represents a shift in focus for Quadric Software. The A2 will be the next generation platform for delivering new technology and features, such as Boot from Backup, which allows users to recover a VM instantly from a backup. This and many other features designed to help companies meet their RTOs are currently in development.

“Our goal has always been to offer cost-effective and comprehensive data protection,” Baskette concludes, adding, “The new A2 will provide the same high performance, lightweight and reliable data protection but with the added simplicity of an appliance that is both low cost and low maintenance with improved performance and scalability. We’re very excited to see how the daily, real-world application of A2 will help our customers.”
