Dynamic Health Strategies, Inc. (DHS), based in Houston, Texas, is a healthcare consulting and management company dedicated to the advancement of health through research expertise, quality analysis, performance evaluation, data extraction and information exchange. DHS combines data storage and retrieval, internet technology, audit discipline, proprietary analytical software, and biometric evaluation techniques in a web enabled format to describe, evaluate, monitor, and improve the quality and performance of health care providers, health plans, and health systems. It accomplishes this objective through data extraction, exchange, analysis and reporting of the effectiveness and efficiency of health outcome measures.
Dynamic Health Strategies found that they were consuming too much disk storage on Windows Servers, and were projecting that their current computation load would consume the amount of storage available by the end of the year. They did not necessarily need to store their data forever, and were finding that when they got the volume up over a week, they were eating up all the room on the server. They constantly had to throw the data onto a CD and then delete it in order to make room for new projects. They were only able to keep things that were one to two years old. DHS needed 2 TB of immediate storage, and they needed it to be quick.
