Interxion Announces Gold Sponsorship Of LINX70 Event
Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, recently announced its Gold Sponsorship of the LINX70 event, organised by LINX, one of the world's leading Internet Exchange Points. The event will take place at the Congress Centre, London, on the 16th and 17th of August 2010.
The event will consist of two days of in-depth presentations and discussion forums looking at all areas of Internet Peering and associated technologies. It will also provide an overview of the opportunities and challenges facing the industry and give LINX members a chance to discuss industry trends and meet new association members.
As part of the company's support for the event, Greg McCulloch, UK Managing Director at Interxion will be delivering a presentation entitled "Where the Cloud Lives – the Carrier Neutral Data Centre." The presentation will outline how the carrier neutral data centre is one of the four key enablers of cloud computing, discussing how they can be leveraged to optimise the delivery of cloud computing services.
"The LINX70 event will bring together some of the leading industry players in the Internet Peering space, providing an excellent forum for discussion of trends seen in the market," said McCulloch. "We are very much looking forward to contributing to the event and discussing the importance of a reliable network infrastructure for Cloud computing, sharing how organisations can build highly resilient, scalable cloud computing data centre environments."
At present, 18 of Europe's Internet exchanges have a presence in Interxion's carrier-neutral data centres. Over 350 carriers and ISPs terminate their traffic with Interxion, creating a network-rich environment with good peering opportunities.
