Imation Experts To Speak At Storage Visions 2012 In Las Vegas
Managing Director David Duncan and Global Storage Director Brian Findlay to Present on Best Practices for Secure Mobile Data Storage and Key Trends for Data Back-Up and Archiving
At the 11th annual Storage Visions Conference on Jan. 8 and 9, 2012, storage experts from Imation Corp. will share insights on the latest trends and applications for secure and scalable back-up and archiving of valuable data. In keeping with the 2012 Storage Visions Conference theme of "Heavy Storage for Thin Clients," Imation's Brian Findlay and David Duncan will highlight best practices for a secure mobile data protection strategy and trends in archiving and back-up for long-term data protection and access. In addition to these presentations, Imation also will highlight its scalable storage platform in Booth No. 21, showcasing the Imation InfiniVault and Imation DataGuard multi-tiered data-archive and data-protection appliances, as well as the Imation RDX removable hard disk storage and Linear Tape-Open (LTO) technologies.
- David Duncan, managing director of the ENCRYPTX security products group, will participate in a panel titled "Protecting What We Have," on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. Duncan will provide an overview of key trends driving security requirements around protecting removable storage devices, as well as offer key technology considerations for developing a mobile data protection strategy.
- Brian Findlay, director of global storage product management, will be a featured panelist in "Keeping the Best To Last?: Long Term Content Protection and Archiving," on Monday, Jan. 9 at 10:15 a.m. Findlay will discuss the latest trends in archiving and the roles that scalable data storage applications will play in providing more reliable and secure protection of large amounts of valuable and sensitive content. He also will discuss the differences between archive and backup, and the role of archive appliances and system considerations.
Duncan leads Imation's ENCRYPTX security products group, a team of research and development experts focused on advances in data security that protect, encrypt, control and manage data at rest. He previously founded ENCRYPTX, which was acquired by Imation in March 2011. Prior to founding ENCRYPTX, Duncan served in various marketing leadership positions at high-technology companies. Findlay leads Imation's global storage product management team, which encompasses the company's traditional and scalable storage businesses. He has more than 15 years of experience at Imation spanning from manufacturing, RD&E, OEM sales and product management.
