Hammer Storage Announces 750 GB External Desktop Storage Device
Hammer Storage, a division of Bell Microproducts, Inc. (NASDAQ:BELM) today announced a 750 GB external desktop storage device, the Hammer Express 750. Built on innovative perpendicular recording technology, the Express 750 is designed to meet the growing storage capacity, performance, cost and reliability requirements of home office and small business users. Priced at $599 US, the single external hard disk drive (HDD) delivers a great value for its capacity and footprint.
The Hammer Express 750 incorporates a new and revolutionary perpendicular recording technology, which delivers new levels of hard drive data density, capacity and reliability by standing data bits vertically onto the disc media, rather than horizontally to the surface as with traditional longitudinal recording. The new data orientation increases drive throughput without increasing spin speed by allowing more data bits to pass under the drive head in the same amount of time. The single-drive design of the device makes it easier to move around, takes up less desktop space and generates less noise and heat than other products with similar capacity.
The high capacity of the Express 750 makes it ideal for storing home movies, large digital files and MP3s on a hard drive instead of writing them to a large number of individual DVDs. It is also great for backing up multiple PC's, particularly on home or small business networks.
As an industry-recognized specialist in storage products and one of the world's largest storage-centric value-added distributors, Bell Microproducts understands consumers and businesses of all sizes require more and more storage capacity at an affordable cost. To serve the growing needs of its customers, the Hammer Storage division of Bell Microproducts continues to bring products to market that offer the highest performance at a low cost for both the business and consumer markets. The Express 750 fulfills a huge demand for increased storage space as consumers and organizations worldwide rely on rapidly growing volumes of digital content.
"We continue to seek out the best price/performance storage solutions for our consumer and business customers," said Bryan Nash, vice president and general manager, Hammer Storage. "As a leader and innovator in the storage industry, bringing an affordable 750 GB desktop device to market that feeds a growing need for high-capacity, high-performance storage that can reliably support the digital lifestyle was a natural step in our product roadmap."
The Hammer Express 750 will be available later this month exclusively through Bell Microproducts. For more information on Hammer Storage products, visit www.Hammer-Storage.com or call 1-888-444-9977.
