Emporos Introduces e2, Its New Cloud Computing Platform And Point Of Sale System

Emporos is announcing e2, a SaaS-supported point of sale (POS) solution at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society's annual conference in Atlanta on March 1. This cross-platform POS system can run outpatient pharmacies, gift shops, cafeterias, and other retail locations. It offers seamless integration with financial systems and pharmacy management systems, and its private cloud offers both security and scalability.

"e2 revolutionizes how hospitals manage all of their point of sale needs," says Greg Phillips, Emporos' CEO. "Instead of IT departments having to maintain every disparate POS in their hospital, one platform will work for all their retail environments. In addition, reporting is real-time and web-enabled."

The POS system features positive ID scanning and touch screen technology to improve customers' overall shopping experience, including an upcoming iPod mobile POS for drive-thru windows, delivery, and other flexible checkout environments. e2 is PA-DSS certified to secure cardholder data and IIAS compliant to accept FSA cards. It offers superior stability and high availability by running on a Linux appliance or private cloud, both offering internal redundancy.

Emporos is initially introducing e2 to hospitals and will make it available to independent pharmacies later this year.
