Bus-Tech MDL 1000 Virtual Tape Library

The MDL-1000 provides 1 FICON channel, emulates up to 256 tape devices, and is capable of delivering more than 100 MBytes of data per second. Multiple MDL-1000s can be combined into a single virtual library to scale channel count, device count, and performance.

The Mainframe Data Library (MDL) is a family of Virtual Tape Library controllers for IBM compatible and Unisys 2200 mainframes.
