The Mainframe Data Library-4000 (MDL) is the latest enterprise product in Virtual Tape Library (VTL) product line from Bus-Tech, Inc., which uniquely delivers "tape-on-disk" technology to mainframe environments.

Off-site recovery of tape-based products typically rely on transporting tape cartridges off-site. Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) are high and include the risks of lost, stolen and unreadable tape media. Tape-based solutions are challenged to satisfy the business continuance objectives for customer critical operational data.
