AIC Announces New High Performance, Software-Defined Storage Capability With Its Flash Array Server Platform

In collaboration with industry partners Mellanox and Seagate, the team at AIC has demonstrated a cost-effective solution for data centers needing high performance storage to accommodate the growing demands of multi-user environments.

City of Industry, CA /PRNewswire/ - AIC announces a successful collaboration with industry partners to deliver software-defined storage (SDS) suitable for flexible deployment in data centers. AIC provided its NVMe cluster servers, which combined with Seagate's NVMe SSDs and networking service from Mellanox, enables users to accelerate their high performance applications.

Data center operators can scale the SDS throughput and performance by adding more network connections and cluster servers. The demonstration highlights that this new SDS capability reaches 750,000 4KB IOPS random read performance and 480,000 4K random 70% read and 30% write speeds (based on 3-node cluster).

Enterprise organizations that routinely work with multiple databases and a variety of user environments will appreciate that the new SDS solution delivers 8.2 GB/s 1MB sequential write and 2.6 GB/s 1MB random write throughput.

At the heart of the SDS solution is AIC's SB122A-PH, an all-NVMe flash array server platform that is suitable for low latency storage applications needing high IOPs. It supports up to two Intel® Xeon® Processors (E5-2600 v3 and v4).

CIOs, looking for a better return on their investment, should know that the flash array server platform will operate for at least 5 years, using the Intel® C612 series chipset. The platform is also built with convenience and ease of use in mind, with hot-swap fans and airflow from front to back to maintain optimal working temperatures.
