Digi-Data STORM XapShot is a simple, flexible, volume replication facility designed for applications such as:

XapShot delivers the same powerful flexibility that has become the hallmark of STORM Storage Management Systems. XapShot is a RECON Firmware-based software application that off-loads server and network resources to accelerate the creation of point-in-time copies of data. With XapShot, a clone copy of any LUN on a STORM Storage System may be created on-the-fly while maintaining coherency with changes to source data and with complete transparency to host systems. XapShot takes advantage of the STORM tiered storage architecture to replicate source data to any available storage on a STORM System. With support for both Fibre Channel disk drives and Serial ATA (SATA) disk drives in a single STORM system, data may be replicated on more economical, higher performance, or higher availability storage.
