STORM RAID storage systems utilize specially designed disk enclosures to maximize performance, density, availability and scalability of the storage system. These enclosures are made specifically for the intense needs of STORM high performance arrays and include fully redundant, hot-swappable disk drives, Fibre Channel loop resiliency modules, power supplies, and fan assemblies.

These enclosures are made specifically for the intense needs of STORM high performance arrays and include fully redundant, hot-swappable disk drives, Fibre Channel loop resiliency modules, power supplies and fan assemblies.

These 16 drive 3U enclosures offer a total capacity of 4.8TB per enclosure using 300GB Fibre Channel drives or 8TB per enclosure using 500GB Serial ATA drives. In a 38U high 19" rack fully populated with 12 enclosures, this translates to over 57.6TB Fibre Channel or 96TB SATA. Each drive can be locked individually for added security.

The 2 Gb Fibre Channel interfaces maximize the available transfer rate to the disk drives. In addition, these enclosures can be configured with either a single (4 port) or dual (4/8 port) LRC for increased flexibility in drive configurations and expandability. Up to 8 enclosures can be daisy-chained together to maximize each Fibre channel at 125 drives.
