SAIC was in the process of setting up a document storage solution to digitize all of the PBCDF's paper documents and fast backup times and cost were the key drivers in this project. This project would require almost a terabyte of data storage to backup documents every night. SAIC was responsible for backing up this data and needed a solution that would back up the data in a short backup window and meet the budgetary requirements of the project.
SAIC purchased the Idealstor 4 Bay Backup Appliance to handle the backup needs of the Pine Bluff Chemical Agent Disposal Facility.
Using Idealstor SAIC was able to quickly backup 1 TB of data nightly and quickly restore the data using Idealstor Removable Disk to Disk Technology. SAIC was able to save time and money by not having to use a Tape Autoloader that would have required the daily use and changing of multiple tapes per backup.
