VistaCare realized its backup software was not up to the job. It simply couldn't handle major restore operations. In one instance, the Company needed to restore a 12-gig set of files. Using their older technology, it took nearly three hours before the restore even kicked off. At this point, thinking the delay was a software error, IT administrators initiated three different restores, which produced three copies of everything. During this time, users continued to make modifications to the different data tests, further corrupting the reliability of the data. The result: IT administrators couldn't sort the old data from the new. In all, VistaCare's IT team lost a combined week's worth of productivity in trying to resolve their restore issues.
